It's amazing the detail you can resolve and see things you never saw before DSLRs arrived.
Clyde looks as though he is sporting a 3rd eye 'webcam' compete with WiFi antenna.
Great colour as well.
Another fine image Derek.

Superb macro Derek, this is quite similar to one I've posted previously, which was also a Dung Fly. In particular I love the shallow DOF, which is a feature of my macro images, could you please tell me what aperture was used? In mine I used a Sigma 105 macro on tubes, at F2.8.
Cheers

Hi David, believe it or not but this was at f8, 2 major contributing factors to the shallow dof, (1) the use of bellows and magnification, I had around 120mm of extension and was at 1:1 focus distance on the lens, (2) is distance, the dung fly was literally 75mm from the front element, I had to raise iso to 400 from my norm which is 200 as it was so close to the front element and slightly inside the range of the flash.Superb macro Derek, this is quite similar to one I've posted previously, which was also a Dung Fly.
