I prefer the version without the figure. I think your friend's red jacket jars a little, perhaps if the jacket has been in black and white this might have worked better. Otherwise its a very good image, the shape of the hill, the steps and the hand rail make an excellent composition. The grasses look very good in mono.

A red color pop normally works well but this one is a little too vivid. Additionally, for some reason, I find that the person looks a little un-natural and thus posed although I feel the shot does need the human factor.
