Glad you both liked it chaps. Had about thirty minutes of sun all day (summer of 2010) but was in position and poised for the clouds to part!

Lovely colours and excellent DOF. I almost (repeat, almost) think the rock in the foreground to be too dominant.

Yes, good point, Brian. I really find coastal landscapes challenging: they're so hard to compose effectively. I try to look for a strong foreground to help anchor the shot, but may have over-done it in this case!I almost (repeat, almost) think the rock in the foreground to be too dominant.
As fot DoF, here's where a manual focus lens really comes into its own. You can choose exactly where to place the point of focus and use the makings on the lens barrel to help.

Lovely shot Andrew.
I would have liked to have seen the rock slightly off centre, and since the image is about texture and shape I think it would look good in mono.
