Campbell's Tomato Soup - deconstructed

Photo of the Week by drofmit

Done for a competion... "Soup"
Every restaurant I have been to recently seems to have one or more "deconstructed" dishes.
I inherited the Andy Warhol Campbell's Soup glasses when my father died... they had been presented to him by the owner of Lord & Taylors on Fifth Avenue... and, as we were still picking fresh homegrown tomatoes, I decided that a deconstructed soup was the order of the day... alright, this is way more deconstructed than a restaurant version... but hey, frankly my dears, I couldn't give a damn!!

The colours and composition, the lighting and the concept, together added up to a winning shot. Very well-earned POTW.

Thanks.... the lighting was kept as simple as possible... and I don't like flash... too much phaff! And, unless you phaff around with a gazillion filters, too cold.
LEDs are my favourite light source now...
in this instance there was a window to my left and ambient room light to the right.
I chose to imitate the window light by using my ring light [Neewer] in white at the maximum setting.... to enhance the ambient room light I used a simple table lamp with a warm, 75W equivalent LED bulb about 6" to the right of the photo.
And exposed for cloud.
