Red squirrels are becoming increasingly rare in large parts of the UK thanks to the spread of the greys. This is a lovely close up of one.

I only asked because until a few minutes ago (I've just been on Wikipedia) I had no idea of the range of red squirrels. I was suprised to learn just how widespread they are, and I also had no idea that they are quite common in other parts of the world! As David says, they are extremely rare here in the UK thanks to this non-native grey squirrel.
