Bittern
Couldn't resit showing this off. My first sighting of a Bittern the other day and first photo opportunity today. Sorry about the quality, shot in poor light from afar. Cropping from a 28mb DNG to 618kb jpeg has inevitably further reduced the grainy originals quality.

With THAT bird a photo at all is priceless. Are they feet or a ragged tail, or both trailing behind?

Not surprised you couldn't resist showing this off! Nice to even see one stood on the ground!

They are feet trailing behind, along with others of the Heron family fly in a similar way. With THAT bird a photo at all is priceless. Are they feet or a ragged tail, or both trailing behind?
