I rarely take nature photos so was struggling to find anything to enter for the club's nature/wildlife comp. I thought the judge would pick up on the poor focus 'where it needs to be' but in fact he criticised it for the poor lighting. I quite like the soft look but I guess it does look a bit flat.

I agree about the focus point. I guess it needs a bit of punch to it lighting wise, but not too much s that would lose the impact of the flower. Great to have found one in the first place! The oof background is great.
