My first ever dawn outing - A mild morning on the Northumberland coast. Taken with K-30, DA 18-55mm.

It's a very good start! Shots directly into the sun are always difficult, particularly with zoom lenses that can be prone to flare. I've checked the horizon and it is pretty level; I think it's an optical illusion that makes it look slightly off.
Regarding composition, I think it would be even better if the castle was positioned on an intersection of a third; as it is it is a bit too far to the right.
All in all, it's an excellent image.

Thanks for the feedback guys, still learning and I suspect always will be.
Any suggestions for sunrise shots into the sun like this? Would using a prime be better? How about a filter of some sort (not bought any yet but plan to) would that help capturing the sun better?

Nice mood, just stumbled on this but I like the shot. Framing of the castle in the puddle is quite good and the other puddle leads the eye in nicely. I will be up there in June and planning to do a dawn shoot as well. I suspect it will be a lot earlier in the day though!
