I've seen several shots of this engine just recently so I thought I'd post my take! The shot was taken on July 26, 1981 on Ektachrome 64 at Rothley on the Great Central Railway. The camera was my beloved K2 with a 35-85mm lens up front, but I can't remember which one! My Vivitar Series 1 never really produced the goods - I think I got a Friday afternoon example - so I'm pretty sure it's not that, although it could have been on a good day!
