Annual Brentwood Charity runners

by Peter Elgar

The Annual Brenntwood 13 mile Half Marathon and 3 mile Fun Run took place on Sunday 22nd March -- this year I used only the 'Kit' lens 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 SMC Pentax DA AL -- I had the usual 'Back Focus' problems -- even when I used 'manual focus' I had to focus well in FRONT to get main subject sharp.

I do these and I've found it best to use a fully manual lens and not touch the focus after setting it on one focal plane right across the road. You then wait for the runner(s) to cross the imaginary line and - click !

It's great the way they dress up for these events.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Never realised that the 18-55 presented such problems - I have one but I've never used it! However, the end product was well worthwhile!
