My first attempt of using Black and White. I wish now I had made the background darker.

A good composition. It's gives a sense of relaxing summer afternoons.

A quick and simple way to darken the background is to add a red filter (R:64 G:0 B:0) of about 20% opacity (I use PSPX2) and then convert to b/w again (don't use Channel Mixer). This should work quite well as well as increasing the contrast.

Thanks alot MeanMachine, I appreciate the feedback! I tried what you said, and it didn't make it any darker..perhaps I'm doing something wrong? I have the same camera as you..loving it!
