A Rarity...

Something for Dorchester (Dorset) to be proud of - how many other High Streets can boast of still having a real photographic shop???
I bought my first digital SLR (K20D) from its predecessor, a tiny, dark, corner shop. The shop moved onto the high streeet (actually called South Street) when many other photographic shops around the country were closing down. I didn't expect this one to survive, but it has. And it still sells Pentax.
The obelisk is Dorchester's Town Pump, built in 1784. The pump itself was removed in the 1930's - 40's and now exists only as a ghostly, dark mark on the north side (left as you look at the photo). It's largely ignored by locals except on New Year's Eve where it's the place to be at midnight.
