It's a bit bigger than those you find fishing in the garden pond. Nice detailed shot.

Apparently it was a license built General Electric T58 turboshaft engine! On that manufacturer's plate should appear a letter H or P to indicate whether the engine was built for a helicopter or turbo-prop aircraft. Fascinating shot!
