Forest fire or something else?? You don't say. But "arresting" is what I'd say---what with the background/foreground colour contrast, and the phalanx of what look like sombre lodegepole pines dominating all but the fiery centre section.

Forest fire in Yakutia in the summer of 2019.

It is ironic that something so terrible should produce such a beautiful and compelling image. Just how bad have the Russian wildfires been? We never hear a word of it here.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Very effective composition...guessing cropped?

The vertical cylinder of orange really contrasts very nicely with the brown tree trunks.

Great image.

Thank. Fires in the Russian taiga happen constantly, from year to year. And 5 and 10 and 100 and 300 years ago. Now the main cause of fires is anthropogenic in nature. Airforestprotection (Avialesoohrana) of Russia localizes and eliminates forest fires. Firefighter paratroopers are usually transported by aircraft to very inaccessible places. Guys in the taiga live for weeks until the complete elimination of the assigned forest fire.

Thank. This is not cropping. As it is. I rarely crop photos.
