I've found it a nice firm zoom and it hasn't really been a problem.

I now have had this lens for 2+ months and it has logged a few hundred shots while hanging on the camera body. I have found no indication yet that there will be any lens creep or at least nothing significant. It takes surprisingly excellent images for a relatively inexpensive lens. I only wish it would have a closer minimum focal distance.

I have had my DA55-300 for over a year and have not had any issues with zoom creep.
My experience is that locking switches on lenses only engage when the lens is at its shortest length so are ok for transporting it around but don't help at all to keep the lens at any other length when it is being used.
The 2 worst lenses that I have for creep are a rather old, and well used, FA28-200 and a DA18-250.
