Zoom 105-R - Error Code E 37

I have been using this great camera for some years without any problems/damage. Suddenly it will not work, and gives the display E in the camera icon, and a 37 where the zoom lens length usually is. I know these are considered old cameras now with limited support. Any ideas/comments please?
