Yet another Robin !

I saw a picture like this in a magazine a while ago, liked it so much I decided to give it a go myself. It looks ok-ish to me but there must be faults in there somewhere. Your comments would be most welcome, but please remember I'm very new to this sort of stuff and still trying to get my head around layers etc etc etc.

And if you'd put it central, someone would have said "Nice, but if you'd put it to one side it would look better..."

Not sure if the red breast is a little too bright compared to the rest, almost looks fluorescent to me.

I think the red is too bright - seems separated from his body in the chest area. Try taking the saturation down a good bit.

As for the pic itself, I'd have been happy enough with it myself but..... that branch at the top left needs cropping out, I personally would also crop out the one in the bottom right corner, alternatively if you want to cheat you could clone it out finally that bright branch behind the bird needs darkening.

Is this tree stump in your garden or somewhere you visit frequently? if so try again but shift you position to the left to avoid distractions in the back ground, if its in you garden you could prune them away you could also drill a hole in the top of the stump and bait it with mealworms (you can get them dried if your squeemish)

Red is a little bright to me..

The image was taken in a woods and it was pure chance the little fella sat and posed for me. The red is bright on here for some reason, but on psp it seems a lot less saturated.

I like the idea of a stump with bait, will give that a try. Thanks for the idea Spider.

As for being off centre I think it works best, cropped the image about four times before deciding, the subject being centre just didn't work I thought.
