Yashica AF lenses?

I'm sure that I've read somewhere that it was possible to adapt Yashica AF lenses to PK fit.

Anyone know anything about this?


Thinking Yashica 50mm is about £35 rather than Pentax £120....

You can pick up a Pentax 50mm lens that would be just as functional as a Yashica with adapter (if one is possible) for £35, probably an M series one.

The Yashica AF lens would be highly unlikely to remain AF and would probably end up MF and manual stop down only.

SRB Griturn will be able to tell you whether the adapter is possible though. When you've added the cost of it to the cost of the lens be prepared for a shock!

I think I've read that conversion - retaining AF - is possible. Not using an adapter, screwdrivers/soldering iron involved. Problem is I can't remember where I read it - dpreview? and cant find anything useful with google.

Perhaps faulty memory syndrome....


I'm used to using adapters - on my olympus kit I have adapters for all sorts (MF only) C/Y, minolta, rollei, OM, M42, etc.

I can't recall seeing anything on PU covering Yashica. Perhaps Pentaxforums?
