X-sync socket on Pentax K-5 ll

Can old , high trigger voltage flashes be used on X-sync socket on Pentax K-5ll without any damage to the camera ?

No, you might damage the electronics.

Thanks, John. I had read somewhere that x-sync circuit is not connected to hotshoe circuit and it works just like an old camera x-sync, hence the query.
