Bumpety bump. I'd like a cheap ( can't afford a Katzeye), split screen for my *istDL

You probably already know this but there's lots of cheap and cheerful split screens on ebay.. I know people have had success with the jinfinance screens. They're not quite up to Katzeye or maybe even focusingscreens.com but they work.

Depends on who you ask. According to Pentax the K200d's screen isn't supposed to be removable, but I've taken mine out several times. Same goes for the DL - you just have to be careful.

Just looked into the throat of a DL2 (Samsung GX1L) and the screen definitely has the enclosing drop-down frame and clip and the little tab for handling. I'll check a DL later when it arrives. Nothing in the manual of course.

I think it's much like the iPhone's battery: it's not technically user-repleacable, but if the repair center can do it, why can't we?
