Join the queue. Just the lens I'd like to own...if only one could be found.
Being the widest (fairly) common mf lens available, they're quite expensive. I missed a very nice Miranda on evil-bay a couple of months ago (it slipped past my self-imposed limit). I think Gareth found a "buy it now" Tokina a while ago, but they're not common.
Good luck with your hunt. If you find two, let me know!
Regards,
Andrew

Hmmm..I watched a Miranda go for £36 a couple of weeks ago, then tried to bidnapper one last week at £50 and it went for £56! What was your limit for the Miranda if you don't mind me asking?
28mm versions seem more abundant..but still go for £45+
I noticed the post of a £40 Sigma this morning...

Seen it. Is that an acceptable price?..I'm tempted but wanted to check that I'm not paying too much / could find one here for a good price first. There is a Miranda on ebay at the moment.

Must it be 24mm?
I have a Vivitar 28mm Close focus,(Tokina made)f2.8 PK-A, I havn't used since buying it a few weeks back. I could be persuaded to part with it.

I've got the same lens as that Miranda and I like it quite a bit.

I've no idea! As I said, I'm new to this. My first purchase was a Pentax 50mm 1:1.7 which has proved excellent, even with my limited talents.
I now want a prime lens that gives me a wider angle, I think 24mm is the best option, but I haven't actually used one, just set the kit lens to various settings. If I had a little more money I would buy both and compare them.
Do you have a price in mind?

Man, you're a few months ago! I bought a chinon 50mm f1.7 (a re-branded Pentax 50mm f1.7) and then the Miranda 24mm afterwards! Then came the big mirror lens and a Pentax FA 50mm f1.4.
I really like the 24mm, I'd actually prefer wider, but they start getting real slow after 24mm. The best you can get is something like this but that's no faster than a kit lens.
Best of luck on your hunt!

Around Fifty quid-ish, delivered.
A 24mm would be about the same angle of view as a 35mm lens on a full frame (35mm film camera). A 28mm would give about a 42mm view. Only 7mm, but because of the magnification, it makes quite a bit of difference!
If it's a wide angle you want, 24mm makes more sense.

Hey, there's 2 28mm Miranda, and here, going for cheapish on Ebay, 3 hours left. If you can get it for less than 20GBP it'd be a pretty good deal.
EDIT: There are a ton of 24/28mm f:2.0/2.8 going in the next few hours on the bay. Keep an eye out and you may be able to get something nice.

Does anyone have a nice example of a 24mm manual focus with 'A' lens for sale? Not set on a manufacturer, but am after a 'well known' make at least.
Thanks
Andy
