Ok.....
Don't overlook the fact that 'D' is an opportunity for sellers/makers to charge a premium for an item
and in terms of Pentax it means bugger all.
If I am right in thinking you're referring to the Vivitar at $124 be careful - although it might say TTL in the description IT DOES NOT STATE P-TTL so it may be incompatible with all Pentax DSLRs bar the *ist D.
subsequent Pentax DSLRs are P-TTL. Why not look for a Samsung version of the Pentax guns? there might be some available. GNs are based on an ISO of 100 IIRC - most digital SLR are native ISO 200.
Good luck with your search

No, I was referring to Minolta. There were versions for SLR and DSLR and the latter had the (D) designator to identify the difference between them (until Sony re-released them under their own brand name). Have found a Sigma 500 EF 530 DG Super for £75.00 and a Metz 50 AF-1 for £128.00 but it's a coin toss as I don't know either of them well enough to make an informed decision.

I'm looking for a dedicated tilt/swivel external flashgun for my K-5.
From my other DSLR mount, some older A-Mount manufacturers flashguns are still fully compatible with the current 3 digit A-Mount models (though not 2 digit SLT's) and these have a (D) designator in the model title to denote 'digital' which is a type that I currently own and use. These have also been reproduced under the new brand name but cost 3x as much as the same item with the previous brand name on the product (daft isn't it) so I'm trying to source a decent quality product for not a lot of money.
I'm essentially after an intermediate semi-pro gun with a GN of around 56 but more than 42 for around £100.00. I've found this link which gives some suggestions, but if there are any that are older and still fully (D) compatible, then I'm more than happy with that.
WHY?
Payment by BACS or PPG available for the right gun, though I will try and research any that are offered to satisfy myself that it's suitable for my needs. Please could anyone offering a gun also provide URLs for manufacturers specs and reviews?
