Well, I hope I don't regret this, but I have purchased a new K3 from "Morning Bell" on fleabay. I appreciate it will be an import and the possible warranty issues that may arise but at £509 incl postage, I could not resist.
Wish me luck
There is one left I believe

I am sure we would be interested to see how you get on with buying from "Morning Bell". I have noticed them on ebay but you are the first I have known actually buying from them.

John,
Scheduled delivery by Hermes tracked is between 23rd - 27th Jan but I will let members know how it transpires.
The camera was purchased as a Buy it Now and paid for via credit card through Paypal so I do have some protection in case there are issues. I see from the 97% Feedback for Morning-Bell that some customers have been less than satisfied but the overwhelming majority seem to have had a good experience. Time will tell.

Hi DMACKUK, you might want to check your postage from Morning Bell, mine says it is Hermes tracked but when i used the tracking number its a Royal Mail signed for, just though you might want to check.

I would not be worried about buying from "morning bell". I bought mi self a lens (DA 18-135mm) from him and have no problems at all - so far. But i would check the box if there is everything as when i read his feedback some people were complained about not receiving lens hood etc.
Another thing is "hermes postal services,. They are bastards as they have left mi lens in front of the door without ringing or knocking. Lucky for me i live in a flat and mi flat door are inside the building so it was relatively save to leave it in front of them.

My K3 arrived via RMSD today and on first appearances, all is well. The camera is brand new, albeit a US import, has the american style mains plug (easily sorted) and has less in the box than a UK version camera in the way of connecting cables. The warranty is 90 days parts and labour and one year labour only via Pentax authorised repair centre. The firmware is version 1.00 so I will also need to install the latest firmware, again a fairly simple task.
Whether or not I got a good deal will depend to a great extent on the reliability of the camera during the first year of ownership but it was a chance I was prepared to take with the £509 purchase price.
In any event, the camera appears to be genuine, all the various functions appear to work well and the delivery timescale was accurate. Barring manufacturer faults that might occur, I think the purchase was a good buy and would recommend Morning Bell to others.
