SMC Takumar in M42 mount may be easier to find and more reasonable price.
Pentax K-5: Pentax Da 12-24mm + DA17-70mm+ DA*50-135mm + DA55-300mm + FA 28mm + FA35mm + FA77mmltd

I have the Takumar version but would like to replace with the K, although I suspect the focusing might be smoother on the Takumar.

congrats Rowdy, it is a fantastic lens ....i kept mine in favour of DA70 and FA77!!!

That's interesting - I have the DA70 as well so will probably try to do some comparison of bokeh etc. I also have the Pentax K 105mm, so probably a hopeless case of LBA.
