Are you trying to start a 'K' series collection? Every lens you have mentioned lately is on my mental 'of interest' list. You'll be asking about the K200/2.5 next... As to the K85, it isn't too common so when I saw an M85/2 for £95 I jumped at it.Dear Chaps

The M85 f/2 is very underrated. Sharp at f/2 and at f/2.8
sharper than all the other similar M lenses such as the
100mm, 120mm etc.

85/2 is absolutely superb IMHO. There can be a tiny bit of fringing wide open, but not much at all and only on really high contrast edges, so easy to mop up in LR etc. At f2.8 it's just perfect and lovely for portraits that drift from a smooth background blur to a sharp subject. (I don't agree with this 'portrait lenses mustn't be too sharp' rubbish).
Because it's a 49mm thread, and it's a long lens, I thought I would try the DA40mm lens hood on it. After doing this I noticed that it performs like it's on f2.8 without having to stop it down, allowing you to use it in Av mode rather than the annoying green button metering. Stepping down rings would probably do the same thing!
I've had the Samyang 85mm, and I just like the 85/2 better. It's still quite fast, but it's a lot smaller.

On build quality, is there any difference between K and M. I don't know from where, I have an impression that K was better built than M...

K's are probably better built, but the 85mm is built to
a high standard.
If you drop them on the floor they would probably come off
as being the same

Depending on condition, I also thought it was xxxx of rocking horse, but it is not that super rare...The K35/2 is a hen's teeth lens I believe. What would your budget be for one in good nick?
