WTB (or borrow?) Pentax Power Pack M

Dear All,

My Power Pack M (it is a type of mains adaptor lead for the NiCAD powerpack for the LX Motordrive) is not working. I would ideally like to buy a replacement if anyone has one to sell. Failing that, does anyone have one I could borrow for a few weeks to test that everything else is working well? Obviously, I'll reimburse postage etc.

Many thanks, Kris.

Assuming the power adapter is to use instead of the NiCad (not to charge it) you should be able to find a generic one that has the right voltage /current.
I was after a mains supply for my camera for ages & eventually found the specs of the pentax model (6.5V 3.5A), armed with this I got a generic (6V switched mode, 7A max) one from e-bay for ~£20 which seems to work fine.

(I thought it worth the gamble on the slightly lower voltage as the camera usually uses 4 rechargables =4.8V)

Thanks for the lead. I was outbid on both with the battery grip going for £51.55 and the cable for £10.50. Oh well...

Best wishes, Kris.

No, not one of those. It is just a combined plug/transformer that you use to charge the NiCAD packs for the LX motordrive.

How does that site work? Not reading Dutch it is a bit of a mystery!

OK. I made my own. The main thing was to keep the charge to 11mA as I remember that the cells are 110mA nicads. Input was 24vDC. I can send you the details as it's a simple arrangement to make. I ended up marking +ve & -ve on my power pack case as I used individual cables with small sleeve sockets to fit the power pack pins. Works fine and is reverse polarity protected. (If I was in UK, I'd make one up for you).

It's a Dutch personal adverts site.
Google translate works nicely: translated version

They are a bit suspicious about foreign bids there, so if you like I can send the seller a Dutch message.

Way beyond me but if you could send me the details I know a man who can. Whether he will or not is another question, however!

Thanks, Kris.

Nothing ever came of that. It sat there for ages then disappeared.

Chances are it sold then. Or the owner just gave up trying to sell it.
I missed the bit about one on Marktplaats or I would have helped you with it. Sorry.
