There's several Pentax FA 28-105's on eBay at the moment (as well as the current DFA version), but apparently not the PZ version which tend to be quite scarce. I think optically out of all the old film lenses around that focal length the FA 24-90 is about the best (unless of course you want the power zoom version to use that feature!) The 24-90 has the bonus of providing a useful increase in width whereas the loss between 90 and 105 is minimal.
Why not look out for a second hand DFA28-105? I doubt the difference in cost between a good PZ 28-105 and the DFA would be that great. (I've noted cheap PZ 28-105's but invariably they're for spares or repair.)

Thank you guys. The FA 24-90 sure is an option. I owned one back in the film days. The early 28-105 as of the Bojidar link above is what I´m looking for tho. I tried a friends with the K-1 recently and I liked it. No pixel peeping or anything, just that the shots came out nice. And, it has the aperture ring as I actually use my KM and K2 DMD from time to time. Yes I know, I´m old fashion...

Just to point out that you said you wanted it for your K-1, not a KM or K2! Anyhow good luck with your search, I'm sure one will turn up eventually.
Link to a 'For parts or not working' one on eBay in Germany if you wish to sort it out.
Also just spotted this one said to be in good order in Wales: link

Thanks John.
Yes, I would like to be able to use it on all of my camera bodies. Sorry for confusion. As for the one in Germany, it seems to have a power zoom issue according to the sellers description. If that is all and the lens works otherwise, one can live with it for that price.

That seems to be a common problem with them so maybe worth a punt. Who needs a power zoom anyhow!?

Problem might just be the switch....how easy it is to get parts I don't know but I do know some for say the Z-1p are hard to come by now....
I would suggest also looking for a Z-1 or Z-1p with lens, they usually turn up with the FA28-105 PZ rather than the 28-80. Prices usually reasonable. Just like buying an SFX/SFXn to get an SMC-F 28-80 & 70-210....
