WTB: Cheap DSLR

Hi guys, I recently bought a Kx from this forum as a first step into DSLR and my son has never has taken a liken to it. May well be just gimmick/new toy syndrome, however he has taken a real interest in using it so........

......looking for an inexpensive Pentax DSLR for him to get to grips with. Not fussed which model (or age) but needs to be in decent nick and fully working. Oh and would prefer the same lens mount as the Kx so lenses could be swapped over.

Am I in the right place guys?!

Thanks for the replies guys, bit reluctant to buy from a retailer after a nightmare experience with one company.

I guess somewhere round the £100 mark as a starting point, fairly flexible though within reason.

K200d at LCE as well for £149. I've bought from them in the past without issue.

Might also be worth calling SRS to see if they have anything in and not listed online. Great service from them - If you mention you're a forum member they'll give you free shipping.

LCE are a good company to deal with, one of the major retailers for the UK. You'll get a short warranty, enough to check everything is working okay. I bought a Panasonic FZ18 from them and it was as described. We still have it, my sons camera now.

With a private sale you have more chance of getting some extras, where as LCE strip it to the minimum.

Would you be interested in a K100D Super with kit lens in excellent condition, relatively little use? I think I still have the box and it comes with caps, hood, strap, etc? It's an older camera but solid, capable of very decent images and runs on AA batteries which is probably a bonus for kids. And yes, same lens mount as the Kx.
