Wrong place, wrong time

I had a meeting this morning in Watford followed by one this afternoon in Hemel Hemptsed.

Found I had an hour and a half to kill between so decided to take a wander down to SRS for a spot of window shopping.

5 minutes later, find myself inside the shop acquiring a Sigma 150-500 - which in truth I have been fighting the urge to buy ever since they have had them at the ridiculously low current price.

If only I hadn't been in Watford, if only I hadn't been paid yesterday - if only I had an ounce more will power

So much for the "I am perfectly happy with the 120-400 - I don't need the 150-500"

I blame the puffins - they were constantly just out of reach last year - determined to get them this year.

Yeah - that's right - it's the puffins fault that my LBA has gone unchecked - again

And this year they will be just inside minimum focus distance

Enjoy the lens Carl, its surprising just how much reach that extra 100mm has.
My Names Alan, and I'm a lensaholic.

hmmmm - in Germany I have to pay roundabout 900 Euro to get this tube - so what was the ridiculously low current price (might be an alternative for me, to buy my next lense in Watford)

I'm sure you'll not regret buying it Carl. Good you've managed to justify it Although I found 500mm wasn't needed for Puffins (on the Farnes)... ssshhhhh

£600 at srs

Why do most retaillers of this lens state that sigma converters can be used when sigma say they are not compatable

I couldn't make the Farnes last year and was too late the year before - but did catch the rare visit of a Sea Eagle - and only had the 300 with me!!! So it was Bempton for me last year and could not get close enough at all
Definitely intend trying for the Farnes this June though

It can be used - but only manually - and they should be much clearer abut that.

It is £200 less than I paid for the 120-400 - which has to make it a fantastic price!
