Anyone got any good recommendations for a wrist type strap (one that fits around your hand when grabbing the body) rather than traditional neck strap.

As I use a nice Lowepro waist bag it just needs to fill secure when I have it out (oh er missus!!)

I use the OP/TECH SLR Wrist Strap. Its very comfortable, mine came from SRS.
The older I get the faster I was.

I would go for Black Rapid. I use mine on K5, K3ii and GR. Very strong and adjustable. They do a wrist strap and a shoulder strap.

Black Rapid shoulder straps seem to be developing a bad rep at the moment due to fast wear in the carabineer that attaches the strap to the camera. There's a recall by Black Rapid, but some togs are reporting catastrophic failures with kit falling to the ground. Google for more info. No idea if wrist straps are also prone to the same problem.

Manufacturing defects aside the Peak design system just feels Intrinsically more secure than others. Having had a "Black Rapid" strap fail leading to a dropped camera we decided not to take the risk in the future,

The K3 is a heavy beast to hang off your wrist for any time! I use a Joby shoulder sling. It is a wonderful piece of kit. Have a look at their promotional videos.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I've been using the Spider Pro hand strap, not cheap but feels very secure when holding in hand.
