WP not poering up

George's original reply is actually a superb bit of English. Read it straight without thinking that there is any sort of innuendo to it and you have a sensible bit of advice.
I admit that you could read a certain "edge" into it, but we would be putting an interpretation on the words that might or might not be there.
Some things are best left in the realm of the unknown...

I dont know the 1st thing about the inside of an optio so i wouldn't of replied.

Try this: "If I hadn't known the first thing about the inside of an Optio I wouldn't have replied." This is grammatically correct, but it suggests that you did in fact reply, whereas in fact you didn't. Alternatively, it suggests that I (GL) know nothing about Optios, but you have no grounds for making that assertion.
Or: "I didn't know the first thing about an Optio so I didn't reply." This is OK, but perhaps too specific to this case.
Or: "If I didn't know the first thing about an Optio I wouldn't reply." This is best because it suggests a principle - that you don't discuss things you know nothing about, which is most commendable. Unfortunately, it means that you don't get to practice writing very much.
