Still getting to grips with my new K10D, but was curious to see what an A4 photo printed out like. I increased the sharpness +2 and the contrast +1 and took a shot out the living room window. We're in a 2nd floor flat with a view over part of the town to the hills in the distance. I used my Tamron 70-300 at 70mm. I printed the photo onto normal glossy paper on a Canon PIXMA 780 and cannot believe the quality of the print. The detail is amazing and the colours are fantastic. I only have a normal flat screen monitor which is fine until you see the incredible increase in definition from the screen image to the printed image. Cannot tell you how happy I am already with my new camera, it feels great when I'm using it and when I saw that first A4 come out of the printer I nearly wet myself!

Steady, lad. It's only a camera.

Actually George, the Canon PIXMA 780 is a printer, not a camera

Like the feeling I got when I printed my first Pentax negs taken on my S3 from 1961 compared with my 1938 Contax II with uncoated f 1.5 Sonnar lens!
Been a member of Pentax Club since the Ron Spillman era! Got COMPUTERISED at last - DIGITISED?
Taken the PLUNGE - BUT FILM STILL RULES !!!

Actually Chris, I think he was praising the camera, not the printer.

You're right George, it was the K10D I was enthusing about, although obviously the printed image does depend on your printer being up to the job. The MP780 we have at home (my wife uses it for her business) certainly does the K10D's 10 megapixels justice.

Chris likes to play with fire, as well as photograph it.

Go outside and lash yourself 15 times, then come back and rub some salt in the wounds. Then go back outside and lie in the sun for two hours.
