Would you be bothered?

Got the Samsung GX20 and over the moon with the quality.

Opened a DNG file on Photome and the shutter count says 502. Ive taken a maximum of 20 shots.

Looks new , no marks at all and had the opening screen where you input time/date etc

Do you think Photome is wrong or if not would you be bothered about it obviously being a demo?

If this is one of the £299 specials that could explain the price. Probably an ex-demo. If you are happy with it and it has a full warranty, I would not be too worried but it should have been sold as 'demo' or 'refurbished'.

presuming you got it for £299, if you complained I doubt they would have any left now so all they would possibly do is offer you a refund which of course is no good to you. Therefore personally I wouldn't worry about it.

I didn't look at mine until I'd taken a few hundred photo's and it then showed 320 which could have been slightly more than I'd taken. Mine didn't look like it had been out of the box. It's possible the factory fire off some test shots. Nothing to worry about. First class service so far from Jacobs, well packed in a large box, not just a plastic bag like you get off some firms and DHL delivery for £8.

If anyone else wants one of these they may still have some left Matt only ordered he's yesterday and received it today.

Yeah mine was very well packaged too. Im not bothered tbh as its well below the price i would pay anywhere else and im over the moon with it.

It wouldnt have taken me long to fire off 482 shots anyhow.

My K20d didn't start at zero either when I got it. Don't worry about it - assume it was the QA dept at work

Did your new car come with zero miles on the clock? I doubt it. Maybe they automatically fire them off in the factory to test them. Besides I will happily give you £299 for it if you are unhappy as it sounds as though it is used and not fit for purpose

I have checked mine:

Image 395 shows shutter count 615 suggesting that count started at 220. I then looked at Image 005 and found shutter count to be 259 - a difference of 254.

I have a string of JPGs taken after that and wonder what happens there ... I get say 100 JPGs but how many shutter actuations? 1 or 100. I think just 1 and I did a couple of tests early on so it could explain why the shutter count:image number is not constant.

What happens when Live View is used? Does that count as an actuation?
