Woodland Slime

I had an hour to kill after dropping off Mrs L for a hospital appointment (regular checkup, nothing to worry about). There was a book on the back seat of the car and the Q-S1 in a coat pocket. What to do first? The camera won. So I walked the couple of hundred yards from the hospital car park to a suburban nature reserve that was new to me. Then back to the car to read the book and wait for the 'I'm ready to be picked up' phone call.

Here are a few of the photos from the nature reserve, all with Q-S1 + 02 lens. And the title of the book? 'Slime: A Natural History'. Well, it had to be, didn't it ...

Thoughts and comments (on the photos, not my choice of book :wink welcome as usual.

Then you'd like the book, too . Apparently, if everything that is non-slime suddenly vanished, the slime that's left would be a shimmering, ghostly outline of both the entire surface of the earth, including the upper and lower surfaces of the seas, and the detailed innards of its inhabitants (you and me included). Fascinating stuff - and it's everywhere!

What a strange coincidence.

I like Nr3, looks a bit like a tree has melted into itself
