Wonky head

OK ignore the composition.

What I don't understand is why his head has an odd edge effect. Pretty mundane sharpening and only some saturation applied here and there (in particular to the very bright area behind the head which did improve the edge effect a bit).

The extreme distorttion from the Sigma 10-20 at 10mm

indeed very strange.

proapably the angle and the distortion and the fact that it is a face that it looks strange.
We see faces differently then we see objects.

I however do really like the photo and the angle of it.
You can see the profession of the man and kept him in his element.

I'm not sure if Mike is referring to the orange fringe above the mans head.

This shot has all kinds of mind altering effects going on & doesn't quite sit right. the scales look as if they are superimposed, they must be catching a different light to the produce beneath. Also the weighted scale seems to be one of those optical illusions that looks concave one minute & convex the next, if it wasn't for the weights I'd be convinced this was a sphere.

One of the things I do like about the Sigma is at 10mm it has a kind of semi fisheye about it but go up a bit in mm terms it gives you a nice wide angle.

I do hope that if the guy pictured has sold enough produce this week to afford a luxury, that he doesn't spend it on a laptop & internet access, only to find himself being referred to as "wonky head".

I do hope you bought some produce Mike, it looks both fresh & flavoursome.

The orange halo is my crappy PP I'm afraid. I messed with the very nearly burnt out pots a lot.

Damn you're right about the concave/convex thing. I was focussing on the scale with the weight and very close of course which probably accounts for the superimposed look.

I might try another conversion with much less sharpening in ACR.

No, all he got was my thanks and a smile. Nowhere to cook the stuff. The market was great with lots of things to buy some I recognised some I didn't.

I have some more shots from the market which I may try and post for interest. Bear in mind Mhuni is the lucky dog that lives in this country!
