Lovely especially the first three the oak tree and the moss I could spend a long time time there that 11-18 seems to work well on the K1 mark11 nice to see these Paul
A question is only easy when you know the answer ..

I read somewhere that Wistman’s Wood was closed due to the number of visitors threatening to spoil the place, but it is good to see it is open again, another place on my bucket list I never seem to get around to visiting. The colour temp on the last one could be rectified in Lightroom or other software; a useful tip I picked up is that the underside of clouds should be a neutral grey unless lit from below at sunset or sunrise.

Looks magical, a rare Dartmoor ancient oak woodland.
Years ago we just stumbled across another example whilst making our way down off of High Willhays. It's just south of the Meldon Reservoir, it was amazing, afterwords we found it was called 'Black-a-Tor Copse', well worth the effort if you're in the area.
Best regards
Mike

You could give every forum member your raw files to process and we'd probably all come up with different results - just keep playing and you'll end up with some your happy with and a few you're not
Love the first two in particular, shape, colour, texture - all contributing beautifully! As I've said before, you're really getting some great use out of that camera and lens combination - keep 'em coming

The last does need some colour adjustment but I do like the first three.
Perhaps consider some brightening of the shadows in the top half/third of the images to bring out more of the colours and textures in the branches.

I wouldn't be to harsh on your self Loadoftripe, as they were contrasty conditions with harsh light so the shadows are going to be blacker and the highlights will be whiter as in the histogram. The sky can be the enemy in daylight photography.
Some of your night photograghy of city scenes and sunset skies are excellent and processed very nicely.
I think you use Rawtherapee if i remember correctly for your editing and excellent it is for raws, but applies Its edits globally(the entire image) but does have a graduated filter to position around so on can lighten or darken separate areas of the photograph and it also has a lot more but it is nerdy to navigate.
Less is more and when you click local contrast for instance, the preset built in is usually pretty accurate, same with sharpening and other settings
it also does my downsizing for this sight

Thank you all for the comments and tips, very informative and useful.
I did use RT's graduated filter on some of the pics, but strangely not all, even though I copied all settings and re-applied/pasted to the next raw file - mostly, then adjust around again.
RT contrast for me is better in LAB using the slider rather than in 'Exposure' tab, but I have also found I can slightly increase a bit more in GIMP afterwards without detriment (I use GIMP to scale down the pic for the forum) - IMHO anyway.
RobL; thanks for the tip on neutral grey The path was open but had signage by the Wood saying "Please Walk around NOT through" and directed you to the path around the top.

What a woods!
I think the opening image is the strongest of the set. In terms of white balance, if you use Lightroom (and I guess other RAW editors will be the same) is use the WB eye dropper tool and look at the clouds as a point of reference. With these white balance settings in place you can then copy them over to the other images
