The whole set is superb and sums up winter in a very artistic way.

Great!(as usually!)
Love the snowflakes!

Nr 3. Cropping may be help, true. My version sth like that, as I like the blue on left.

Thanks Aiki,

I do like the right side (with the thick ice), though. Just tried cropping off the top a bit but that doesn't really work either...

Maybe I just got the wrong angle of view here. It's still cold, maybe the sun will come out on the weekend for a re-shoot...

Sorry Aiki, I prefer Ralf's original without the crop. From an artistic viewpoint it benefits from the extra space.

I do like the right side too, Ralf. But still I feel the pic is not so perfect as the others.
I am sure, my version is not the best either.

And I thought winter in Somerset was cold this year! I'll stop complaining. Great pictures. The last one is terrific, lovely colours.

Just a thought...a couple of days ago I posted a photograph with a similar structure in the Gallery having converted it to mono. I then switched the slipway to run from left to right having read somewhere that a picture looks more natural if it "flows" in the western reading direction. (Wouldn't normally do this.)

Regards,

Andrew

Andrew,

interesting thought. I took some from the other side as well, here is one of them:

And yes, still cold here. Here's some ice that built up in front of our windows:
