Windows 7 and PSE7

I run PSE 6 under Windows 7 with no problems at all. PSE will find and load any photos on your system pretty much, unless you tell it not to - just as Windows 7 automatically sticks them in pictures.
Which task bar is hiding which buttons?

The bar at the very bottom of Windows 7 which has icons on it and time and date etc.. Is hding the buttons on the raw convertor which are on the bottom right. They are the buttons that say DONE & OPEN & Cancel

Can you reduce the raw converter window so that it doesn't fill the whole screen? Try pulling it down slightly and then reduce the whole thing by pulling a corner. Then reposition and pull the sides to the size you want.
Best regards, John

With Windows 7, you can use the 'Snap' feature to maximise a window to the available desktop space by holding the 'Windows' Key, and pressing the 'Up' cursor key, might be easier then trying to fiddle with moving the PSE Window about into you get it to fit.
('Windows' and the left or right cursor key will snap a Window to half the screen, great for copy/pasting from one Window to another, and Windows/down will restore or minimise a Window)

Sounds like a Win 7 improvement Ahem!!! Try right clicking on the Win 7 toolbar and uncheck always on top if it's there. If it's not there check the one that says autohide..... I can't remember which one they messed up You can't have the application your using on top of the taskbar like it was in all previous versions of Windows..... Thanks! MS I'm still on XP Pro. I rarely use the other PC with Win 7 on it.

I have to say that since using W7, I'd not go back to XP by choice. Yes there are differences, but obce you get used to them, you really miss them.
Having said that, even in XP I've never wanted programmes to cover my Taskbar, but then, personal choice and all that!
Just out of interest, what PC are you running PSE on? More specifically, what's the screen res set to?
I ask, as the only times I've had problems with buttons being hidden by the Taskbar have all been on my XP Netbook, as the screen physically wasn't big enough for vertical resolution.

With those small screens i always let the taskbar hide itself, most of the time it's just enough to make the screen more usable.
You can also place the task bar at the side but I'm not used to that but that's also an option.

I've posted this on here before, but because MS still haven't fixed the problem a 5th version of this app was released on the 1st Nov. 2010
How to Disable or Enable Taskbar Always on Top in Windows 7
When I tried an earlier version by putting it in the startup folder it crashed Windows It worked OK just putting it on the desktop and double clicking. I'll try release 5 from the startup folder.

Cheers Guys I shall have a shot at those options this evening.
Can anyone advise me on whether or not I need to tweak anything on my new laptop/operating system to give me the best colour match for printing? I know laptops are not ideal for this and I will evntually buy a stand alone monitor and try and get that calibrated correctly.
Also I keep coming across mention of wheter Windows & is 32 or 64 bit? Do I need to do something about this with regarsd to image editing?
Many thanks guys

I have just installed PSE 7 on my new lap top which is running Windows 7. First thing I noticed when I asked it to get all photos it seems to have populated itself with not just my images but images from various files on the installed software, so my folder location is immense when I display it. I triedd to uninstall it and try again but soon as I installed the second time it automatically picked up the same files and images. Any ideas if I can rectify this? More importnaly is that when I open the raw convertor I cannot get at the buttons on the bottom right ( Done, Cancel etc) becasue of the pesky task bar ( I think that's what it is called) they are hidden behind it. I guess there must be someway of getting rid of the task bar but blow me if I can find it, grrrrr. Any other nuiances about Windows 7 I should know about would be useful.
