So that's what they look like when not wrapped up in the seed head!
Very good picture. Not exactly nature at it's most beautiful, but who cares. Technically excellent and a fascinating subject.

Yes, it is what it is.
Still beautiful though, inasmuch as if you had to dress an object so that you could ensure its dispersal by any passing creature, chances are it would finish up like this.
Just look at all the hooks & barbs plastered all over this thing's surface!
