Why the upgrade

I upgraded from a Samsung GX-10 to a K5 and haven't looked back, the K5 is faster and offers more consistency in terms of metering. The AF is also much better on the K5 in comparison. I still have the GX-10 as a second body.

So far I've had *istD,*istDL, K10D, K20D, K-5 and K-3. I've missed a few out a few models, reasons for change are:

DL - I had broken the D and there was a good deal at Schiphol
K10D - was the next great new big thing, replaced the D and DL
K20D - ability to print larger prints, upgraded AF (which I thought was a weak point on earlier models)
K-7 - did not believe this represented much of an upgrade over the K20D plus grips were incompatible
K-5 - next great big thing, allowed me to use two bodies with my 2 DA*s
K-5ii/s - cost of upgrade from K20D was too much to justify - still attached to the K20D
K-3 is the great big thing, many improvements on K-5, deal at SRS, so replaced the K20D. Thing is as hard as nails...

Other upgrade was D3 - FF and AF. But lacks any mojo whatsoever.

My digital era started in 2002 with point and shoots, then bridge cameras before a KX, a KR and then my K5. All money since has been on buying and selling lenses. If my K5 broke then a used K5IIS would appeal until something radically new comes along.
