Why do you stay with pentax?

Why?
It is a lot like marriage I guess... I suppose IF my key fit the locks to a different house, and IF the stuff in that house was as nice as mine, and IF the woman in the bedroom upstairs was nice looking and happy to see me, I MIGHT be tempted to switch, but realistically.... I'm too set in my ways to change, and my wife won't let me even if I wanted to.

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

I, like many others chose Pentax because of the ability to use some stunning old lenses. I used Sony before for the same reason as I had some beautiful sharp lenses, unfortunately Sony are incapable of making a camera body of the same quality. I have a KX and five lenses having spent less than £450. Extensive research and 'try before you buy' helped me before laying out such a vast amount of money on my gear

I'm amazed at the various responses to this question, are they genuine I wonder, or have people simply tried to think of a reasonably valid answer?
I will just say; I stay with Pentax because I'm happy to work within the limitations of my kit and I CANT AFFORD to change systems anyway

I'll guess music tog, as the S is just under the W on the keyboard.

My post was really TIC John, but there was I think a little truth in in, people who are stuck with older or different systems may well have unwittingly convinced themselves they have it for a reason, when in actual fact if they won the lottery tommorrow they may well reconsider their choices, hence why I wrote "cant afford it" in capitolsQuote:

I dont want anyone to take offence to those remarks, we are all different and some may well have stuck with Pentax because of the reasons they stated, note the word "some"

In all honesty if I won the lottery (more than the €10 I won yesterday that is :wink I would probably reconsider Pentax as my system of choice.
But I can think of a lot of other things I'd rather spend the money on.

I would only add to the kit if I came into some big money- probably Canon, Nikon, Leica as well as Pentax as money would be no object a 645D for sure- maybe pay Pentax for a custom finish!
Might even take a punt on that ridiculous gold and snakeskin Nikon that Gray's keep putting in their AP ad!!

Problem with the Canikon for myself is being stuck with only two format sizes.
Pentax ...be it film or digital, the grass really can green on both sides of the fence!
