Which older Pentax film camera?

Hi,

I am also considering a Pentax K1000D and Pentax MX for my work.
The problem is I'm having a collection of FA Limited lenses and Voigtlander KA lenses.
I wonder will these lenses of mine work on these 35mm bodies that I mentioned? If not I reckon I still can use them at wide open?

As long as they have an aperture ring they will be fully functional.

The FA Ltds are all "full" format so now trouble as are the CV and Zeiss lenses. The only lenses you will have a problem with are the DA and FAJ lenses.

Actually my Voigtlander lenses are also full format...no messing with reduced image circle for me.
As for choice of lens, eventhough I don't have any experience with film cameras, I only choose "film-lens" for my K10D...that's helps =).

The MZ-6 is perhaps the most modern AF film body that has no issue with old lenses. The MZ-S has no option to set the aperture on the body, and the *ist, good though it is, can't deal with the older lenses either. The MZ-6 can also use the wireless flash capabilities of the AF360FGZ and AF540FGZ flash units.
I bought a MZ-S in as new condition about 18 months ago thinking I'd get good use out of it. I've put 1 (one) film through it but taken many thousands of images with my *istD and K10D cameras.

Don't forget the MZ5 and MZ3, both very versatile modern AF SLRs. I have been using the latter for Images of England, but now that project is over I wonder if that is the last film I will shoot.

I used my MZ5 a lot as it was small and light, however of all the cameras I've owned the Z1p is the pick of the bunch (the K10D is the only other camera so far to get close).

I still love to use it - everything about it just seems right, plus it's been giving me great service for a decade or so now.

I still use the MZ3 and the MZ-S. (The MZ3 replaced the MZ5) I would go for the MZ-S. It is a much easier camera to use and more capanle the the MZ3/5. The only real advantage of those is they similarity to the older MF bodies such as the KX/MX/LX.
