Where would I get a K5 serviced?

I've not been too happy with the sharpness of some of my images recently at wide open (f2., and I wasn't sure whether it was the lens or the camera body. I've done the fine AF adjustment for the lens, and I have now also done some tests with my spare body which is a K7.
It looks like it is the K5 body, and I hope to confirm this tomorrow when I am going to see a couple of PU users to do a few more tests with their lenses/bodies.

If it is the body where is the best place to get it checked over?
I presume if I send it to Pentax they outsource it, so I would assume someone on here know the best place to send it.

I think SRS send their stuff (ex-demonstrators and second hand bodies) to Johnsons Photopia, Tim. But I've never had cause to use them myself (luckily).
I reckon you must have worn out that poor camera with all your wonderful shots!
Best wishes,

Andrew

If you look on the Pentax UK website they will give you the details for JPS, their official repair house. Don't forget to join PU Plus so you can download the 20% discount form to send with the camera.

I have used JPS to repair a K10D and they returned it repaired and absolutely spotless. They were slowish, but at least it was ajob well done.
Best regards, John

Thanks John, I will go and take a look.
My first shoot isn't until the end of April, so I should manage with the K7 until then.

Right, here's what happened.

Sent K5 + lens to JPS, they said camera was fine lens was faulty.

Sent lens to Intro2020 who then asked for the camera body as well, they sent it off to Germany, did god knows what to the lens, and now it's supersharp, even sharper than it has ever been. So a big thank you to Intro2020

In the meantime I purchased Sigma 30/1.4. I did the fine focus adjustment and it needs -10 to get it anywhere near sharp wide open, so would it get any sharper if you could set to greater than -10?
I am loath to send camera and lens off to Sigma in case they muck up the settings for the Tamron 17-50/2.8>
Can I just send the lens off for adjustment?

Tim

I had the Sigma 30/1.4 and Tamron 17-50. When one was sharp the other was not. It was on a K20D as I recall. It's probably not relevant but who knows? Actually I'm not sure how I adjusted so that one was OK and other now but in the end that added to a reason to part with the Sigma 30/1.4
