Where the wild things are

Well, slightly wild. All taken with DA300mm f4.

4 - Visiting (K-5 IIs, pochards aren't common in Kelsey Park - and females are hard to spot among all their tufted counterparts)

Like the movement caught in 1 and 8, but 6 and 7 are my favorites, of course they're' all great as always, super set.

Wonderful set .............. and i like the captions too.

Favourites for me are ' Reflecting' and the squirrel. Both are original not seen anything like then before. It's very unusual to get a squirrel shot face on from that angle and the addition of the tree is excellent, gives context.

The close one of the swan head, whilst a strong composition, seems to suffer from underexposure ... Did the meter see so much white that it needed a good dose of plus EC? There's good retained detail of course, seems just right on the lower right side, but around the head looks a bit dim.

I see what you mean, Nigel, but it was effectively a two-tone swan. Parts of its head and neck were a bit grubby, because it had been snuffling around in a silt trap a few minutes beforehand. There is also a fair bit of shadow around the top of its head, courtesy of an adjacent tree.

I'm quite happy with it as is, but will have a play to see what happens.

That seems fair enough Simon ... you can be let off! I do feel that there would be a little more impact if you were to brighten and slightly whiten the rest of the swans head and neck. I do love it though for the very tight framing and the curved shape.
