where is everyone?

I'm getting a bit concerned, its Sunday morning and so far only 13 entries in the Storm Brewing competition. Many of the usual suspects are missing. By this time in the previous competitions I have set and judged the entries were in the upper 30s. Have I picked a bummer this time, if so sorry.

I was just starting to look at my entry when I read this - circumstances this week have delayed me for one.

Hopefully, like an eBay auction, there will be a last minute flurry of activity!
Best regards, John

I have been trying to come up with a good original idea, other than the obvious stormy sky.

So far all of my ideas have not made it past quality control

I tried to be clever but gave up and stuffed an 'approaching storm' image in. I knew I wouldn't have much time this week to consider alternatives as work is 'mad'. I bet that is probably the reason why there is little action here.
Everything is possible - just not today.

Well we have had the most gorgeous weather this week! Cold, crisp air with warm sunshine and hardly a cloud in the sky.

Also experiencing brain fry, so no good ideas coming to me.

Will slide one in there today.

David,

It is looking pretty good now - 25 entries and nearly 7 hours still to go.

I suspect quite a few people are still locked away in their darkrooms

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been trying to work on limiting my internet addiction....it's too cold to focus on my motorcycle addiction, and a slow down in work, combined with some health issues, have kept me from my work addiction, so I have decided to pour some effort into my alcohol addiction.

Will get back into my photography addiction after the holidays!

Well, I had to go to Spain and spend some time in a hotel at the Costa Brava (the things they make you do for work, horrible ) and just returned.
I had a pretty good idea of which one I wanted to submit or so I thought. Looking through the archives I found about 7 possible entries (and these all were taking the theme literally).

And then I had to shoot the entry for the fortnightly competition as well... and get some prints ordered...

Thanks to everyone who entered. There are now 27 pictures and still nearly an hour to go. I've studied all those in already and have a pretty good idea about a winner and top positions. If an even better one comes in in the next hour I'll just pop it onto the top of the pile and move the others down one place.
I'll start on the final selection and comments early morning Monday - I have to be in Chester, via Manchester, in the afternoon.
I won't see any abusive comments on my choices or be able answer any questions arising until Wednesday.
nightie night, david.
