Where can I get my camera repaired

I have a K100D and the shutter release button does not stop halfway to enable autofocus. Instead it goes straight down and takes out of focus shots. I guess it needs a new release button.

Any recommendations of camera repair shops for the Leeds/Bradford/Harrogate area?

Thanks

Before sending it in for repair, is it set on AF-S or AF-C? If it is on AF-S, it shouldn't release if the focus isn't done.

Or, is the autofocus switched off? Do you hear the motor whirring when the button is pressed as well?
Might be worth taking off the lens, and re-seating it - in case somethings jammed.

Maybe worth trying resetting the Custom Function menu to the defaults (page 180 of the camera manual.) One of the settings turns off automatic focussing during a shutter press.

I've tried the above and it is definitely a mechanical problem with the button. It feels like there is no resistance when you press so the button can not be held at the halfway position - it just goes all the way down.

So. I think it needs a new shutter release button but I don't want to pay much as there is not a lot of value in the K100D these days. Any ideas?

JP Service Solutions is the official repair facility in the UK. They are not overly expensive, but can be quite slow.

I have used JP a lot. I have found them to be very helpful and efficient. The speed is due to where your repair fits in to the queue, as prority is naturally given to warranty repairs.
