When will see the 31mm replacement?

Almost impossible question I know.

It seems the 31/43/77 are now discontinued.

Wonder if it'll be (HD/red-ring)-ified...

The mearest Sigma offerings look good, but I think I prefer the Pentax colours and differently prefer the Pentax smaller size

I'm intrigued, what makes you think these lenses are discontinued? I know it can be hard to tell when something actually goes out of production, but they are still on the Ricoh website and still listed by suppliers such as SRS.

I was at Clifton Cameras today and all three FA limiteds are in the Pentax sales display, along with all the other current lenses.

I even got to play with a 645Z!

If it's still listed on the Ricoh website then it's not discontinued.

By most accounts though the Sigma 35 1.4 is one of the best lenses out there regardless of system.

There are rumours (from asahiman) that the fa limiteds are no longer in production, and that they are now just selling off their remaining inventory (asahiman is adamant this is the case). I have seen lots of rumours that a refresh of the limited is coming, but IMHO none of them are credible - just a bunch of forum posts about people hoping for wr, hd, and dc; which have then been regurgitated as fact on other rumour sites, before sparking off yet more forum posts. Rinse repeat.

If the refresh happens, cool, but at the moment it just looks like a lot of wishful thinking.... (and that is of course assuming that asahiman is even correct)

Well the 20-40 is a new limited. So those rumours don't sound too credible.

The rumours only relate to the 3 fa limiteds (sorry, should have clarified that in my post). They are however just that, rumours...
