When is a Sonnar not a Sonnar?

They are all Sonnars. Due to court verdicts in the 50's
the East German CZ couldn't use names like Sonnar in
certain countries.

I have a few of these lenses and its a excellent lens 200mm on a DSLR , fabulous portrait lens even wide open , i also use it a lot to shoot roses and other flowers , it has great close focus ability , it seems to be faster than f3.5 , more like a f2.8 , definitely a keeper !

Special thanks for that link Bill - very interesting indeed. And good news for me as I have the all black MC 4th version. I was going to sell it on, until I stuck it on my K100D and realised my mouth was hanging open slightly after I saw the very first pic.
So that's not going in to the classifieds but a Vivitar Series 1 70-210 (3rd version - Komine) will be so feel free to let me know if any of you are interested please.

Is there anyone who can clarify this query for me please?
If it is of any help the Serial number is 7674 and the mount is M42.
