whats it worth

Hi I am thinking of upgrading my dslr to a K311, I have a K20 with a pentax grip and the two kit lenses that were barely used as I bought two sigma lenses 17-50 and 70-200, so what would the camera with the grip and the two kit lenses be worth they are boxed and in mint condition.

i imagine for what it would fetch it would be better to keep it as a spare, you never know when you might need one or convert to IR

Can't you get some idea of value from recent eBay sales? At the end of the day, what it's worth is what someone is prepared to pay for it and that can depend on how you go about selling it! You could just let it find its own value on eBay or similar or a dealer may give you a good deal to sell a new camera (and sometimes not.)

I think a K30 with the shorter kit lens is about 200 these days

So the k20 with the longer zoom..... 250 to 300?

Go to Ebay. Click on Advanced search (to the right of the search box) put your details in the obvious box. Scroll down slightly and check "sold items". scroll to the bottom and click SEARCH. Every one sold will come up with their results.

Usually a 70-200 is an f2.8, a 'slower' lens f4/f5.6 will always have a focal length like 70-210 or 70-300. A 2.8 lens on it's on would be worth more than the other items put together or worth keeping

The usual two lens kit comprises the 18-55mm and 50-200mm f/4 - 5.6.

Keep in mind prices on ebay are always far lower than in the shops

You'll get a better price if you get somebody like SRS or ffordes or a local camera shop to flog it for you. Yes they'll take a commission but you'll still do better than if you had sold on ebay (and ebay and PayPal take a chunk in fees anyway of course)
