What would you wish for?
Super Multi Coated Motors? So that's why they self destruct is it?
My DA*16-50mm has had the motors crap out for the second time. About to become an expensive paper weight.[/quote]Why on earth would you want to scrap an optically superb lens just because the SDM is notoriously unreliable? Convert it to screw drive and have no further problems.
1.I'm jolly happy with the capabilities of my K3iii but I would like a flippy screen. I have kept my K-S2 for just that reason.
2.Why would Pentax be interested in mirrorless at this point in time?
3.I had a K1000, never struck me a something special, switch your current camera to M, what's the difference? Now a digital MX would be attractive but not a functional replacement for my K3iii
4. Why on earth would Pentax make an adapter for other people's lenses? to say nothing of all the registration distance issues
5. There are numbers of people who offer the screw drive change for most SDM failure lenses, and again what would be Pentax's motivation to do this?

What you need are lenses, more lenses, bigger lenses, better lenses, faster lenses, vintage lenses and when you have these, your pictures will be perfect!
Being an avid Pentax camera and lens user I thought I would suggest a topic for discussion that might get back to the Pentax marketing department.
Personally I do not see me investing in a new film camera, I already have two older functioning excellent film cameras. Nor would I want an AFC camera whose claim to fame is an improved view finder or one that only takes black and white images. I gave up black and white years ago once I could afford color film and processing. I would wish for with no particular order
1. An AFC sensor camera that incorporated the features of the K1, third multi selector knob, built in GPS, illuminated controls and an articulated viewing screen.
2. A mirrorless K1 with improved updated electronics.
3. A digital K1000, that offers all of the manual controls of the K1000, the same size camera but with a digital sensor and updated electronics.
4. An Adapter that would allow me to attach and use the modern third party lenses to my existing Pentax cameras.
5. A software update for my K3 and K1 that would allow me to use the camera screw driver autofocus system for lenses with SMC motors.
2. Why would people buy such a camera when it doesn't have a viewfinder or has an electronic viewfinder but still the registration distance (and therefore size) of a DSLR?
3. Simply not possible due to the thickness of the sensor and associated electronics. The nearest is the Nikon ZF but that's mirrorless.
4. Not possible in most cases without corrective optics that would massively downgrade the IQ.
5. Now this one actually seems realistic
Fan of DA limited and old manual lenses

Further once they figure it out, I would have thought, that it would be possible to update firmware for older models K10, K5 ect. It may also have the addon benefit of extending the life of older SDM motors.
It may not help with the sale of new equipment, but it would be a great gesture by Ricoh.
I would have thought that it would be possible in firmware. For example, when a lens with dual autofocus (SDM or Screwdrive) is fitted ,a menu option that allows choice of method of AF could be available....

No, it ain't gonna happen for those grand old cameras.
But back to what I would wish for. The answer is that I don't wish for anything for me, photographically or otherwise. I learned many years ago that wishes usually aren't fulfilled and hopes are dashed all too frequently. Better and happier to simply appreciate what you've got and be grateful if something better comes your way. That's seems to work OK for me even if it isn't the way of the world .
